Jacky Rosen: I support paid family leave policies and think it’s critical that these provisions are included.

  2. PL+US Action: Do you support paid family leave that provides equal parental leave to all parents, regardless of gender?

  3. PL+US Action: Do you support paid family leave that provides low income families a higher rate of wage replacement?

Jacky Rosen: Yes, I support paid family leave for all families regardless of their economic status.

  4. PL+US Action: How many weeks or months of paid leave should families have access to via a national paid family leave policy?

Jacky Rosen: I believe a national paid family leave policy should cover 12 weeks, which is why I co-sponsored the Family and Medical Insurance Leave Act, which would provide with up to 12 weeks of partially-paid leave (66% of wages) for health reasons, pregnancy, childbirth recovery, the serious health condition of a child/spouse/partner, adoption, military service, or military caregiving.

  5. PL+US Action: Do you support national paid family leave policy that allows everyone, regardless of where they work, the ability to contribute and participate?

    Jacky Rosen: Yes

  6. PL+US Action: Do you have a personal experience with family leave or caregiving?

Jacky Rosen: I stepped away from my career as a computer programmer to care for my aging parents and in-laws.

Families come first — that’s how it should be.

But in reality, 1 in 4 moms return to work within just 10 days of giving birth. Only 15% of us have access to paid family and medical leave through our employers — and often it’s not enough to meet the needs of families.

You shouldn’t have to be rich to have a family in this country or to be there for your loved ones when they need you most.

That’s why Jacky Rosen is fighting for paid family and medical leave for all. She’s been named a Paid Family Leave Champion by PL+US Action.
